Ingredients

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/2 cup coffee liqueur
  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate shavings

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until pale and fluffy.
  2. Heat milk in a saucepan until just simmering. Gradually whisk the hot milk into the egg mixture.
  3. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat until thickened, then let cool.
  4. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  5. Fold the cooled egg mixture into the whipped cream until well combined.
  6. Mix coffee and coffee liqueur in a shallow dish. Dip ladyfingers briefly in the mixture.
  7. Layer half of the dipped ladyfingers in a dish, spread half of the cream mixture on top.
  8. Repeat layers and finish with the remaining cream mixture.
  9. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  10. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder and top with chocolate shavings.

Notes

  • For best results, use high-quality coffee and cocoa powder.
  • Let the Tiramisu chill longer for enhanced flavors.
