  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and softened butter until smooth.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  5. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, substitute half of the butter with unsweetened applesauce.
