Korean Marinated Eggs – Mayak Gyeran (EASY!)

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 green onion, sliced

Instructions

  1. Boil the eggs for 7-8 minutes, then transfer them to an ice bath to cool.
  2. Peel the eggs and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, water, sugar, garlic, and sesame oil until sugar dissolves.
  4. Place the eggs in a jar and pour the marinade over them.
  5. Add the green onions, seal the jar, and refrigerate for at least 8 hours.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the marinade.
  • Store the leftovers in the refrigerator for up to a week.
