Healthier Carrot Cake Banana Bread with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting

A delicious and healthier twist on traditional carrot cake, this banana bread is perfectly spiced and topped with creamy cinnamon frosting.

  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas
  • 1 cup grated carrots
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas, grated carrots, Greek yogurt, eggs, honey, and vanilla.
  3. Add baking soda, cinnamon, and salt, and mix well.
  4. Gradually fold in the whole wheat flour, walnuts, and raisins until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For a lighter frosting, use cream cheese mixed with Greek yogurt.
  • Can be served warm or at room temperature.
