  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 package saltine crackers
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until it comes to a boil.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla and cinnamon.
  5. Pour the buttery mixture over the saltine crackers, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
  7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee.
  8. Once melted, spread the chocolate evenly over the toffee.
  9. Sprinkle powdered sugar on top.
  10. Allow to cool, then break into pieces and serve.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper to the butter mixture.
  • Store in an airtight container to keep it fresh.
